This is the main temple on the Holy Hill Grabarka. It is in the place of the first chapel, which was built as a vote of gratitude for being saved during the cholera epidemic in 1710. In its place in 1789 a new, larger church of the Transfiguration was erected. In 1884, a general renovation of the temple began, as a result of which a new church was erected. The chronicle of the Siemiatycze parish reports that new walls, ceiling, floor, foundations, roof and iconostasis were built in the church, while the interior was expanded. Renovation works were completed in 1895. During renovation, elements of a wooden church from Mielnik were probably used.
