The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic (European Art Center) obtained the status of the largest artistic institution in north-eastern Poland. It is considered the most modern cultural center located in this part of Europe. It was officially established in 1954, when the State Symphony Orchestra was founded in Bialystok, which after twenty years of activity received the status of a philharmonic. The modern philharmonic building was inaugurated on September 28, 2012, beginning the 58th season of artistic activity. The amazing architecture and advanced technological solutions mean that all concerts and projects implemented in the philharmonic building are of the highest quality and on a world-class level. The space of the entire building is filled with: Big Stage, Chamber Stage, Amphitheater, Foyer, and a professional recording studio. The building is the seat of: the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Choir, the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Children's Choir as well as chamber ensembles: the Big Band of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic, the Quartet of Aleksander Tansman, CONSORT 415 Early Music Band and Brass Quintet and Tin Brass.
