The theater is located in a historic building built in the late 1930s (1933-1938) according to the design of Jarosław Girin. It presents a modernist style. Is the most important theater institution in the Podlasie Voivodeship. The building has three stages: the largest with a ground floor and a balcony for 502 spectators called the '' Big Stage '', '' Small Stage '' with an auditorium for 100 seats, in which smaller theater forms are presented, and '' Foyer Scene '' with a cafe character . The plays performed here are very diverse. Higher art with great artistic value as well as entertainment and humorous are presented. Dramatic Theater also boasts a rich offer for the youngest viewers, in the form of adaptation of children's literature and contemporary fairy tales. A cultural institution also conducts theater workshops. It also has its own tailoring, art, wig, make-up, carpentry, Artistic Archives and its own Theater Library. The theater's patron is the actor, the greatest Białystok theater animator and director Aleksander Węgierko.
